Local Government Decisions (see Section 3.4 in the Boys State Handbook for additional information)
- The clerk/secretary and the chairman/mayor/chief executive/presiding officer should create an agenda prior to the meeting. This should be posted for all citizens to view.
- Anyone can write an Ordinance/Resolution for discussion at the meeting.
- The clerk/secretary should take minutes during the meeting.

Common Local Government Activities (see Section 3.6 in the Boys State Handbook for additional information)
- The Cost Estimate Sheet shows costs of common items.
- The Cost Estimate Request can be filled out to request the price of any item not listed on the Cost Estimate Sheet.
- The Eminent Domain form must be completed for governing bodies to acquire land that they do not own.
- Purchase Order Form to authorize purchases for governing bodies.
- Grant Distribution Form must be completed to distribute money in response to a grant application. Request from the corresponding departments:
- Construction Permit – The Banking Center may need additional documentation before approving the construction:
- Price Estimate Sheet if the item is not on the Cost Estimate Sheet
- Ordinance/Resolution authorizing the item’s purchase/construction
- A map showing the location of the construction
- Eminent Domain Form if you don’t own the property
- Bond Issue Application

Bill Form
- Any citizen or governing body in Boys State may propose a bill using the bill form.
Department Forms
Department Request Form
- To request items for a department, complete a Department Request form.
- To complete a Department mandate, use the Department Mandate form.
- Department Distribution Form
